Show Review – Tsawwassen Legion #289 Rocks with Bonnie Scott & James Shepherd

Like most Canadian Legions, #289 is looking for creative ways to attract a more diverse clientele, improve revenue streams and remain relevant. Money generated by the Legion goes to providing veteran services in the community. Live music is a way to help build these audiences and bring business to the Legion.

We are always searching for accessible venues and decided to try a ticketed show at this Legion. On January 18th Music Lottery presented Bonnie Scott Tribute to AC/DC and the James Shepherd Band at the Tsawwassen Legion #289 in Delta, BC.

Bonnie Scott – a female fronted AC/DC tribute band, got the audience rocking with a high energy performance of many AC/DC favorites. Fronted by Connie Chaos and Agnus Young, the band does a great job at performing and in getting the audience to participate and rock out!

James Shepherd and his band ended the night. James wowed the crowd with a 90 minute set and had the dance floor full. He played guitar ripping, wrenching versions of Hendrix, the Rolling Stones, other classics and a fabulous rendition of Angel from Montgomery by John Prine. A standout performance!

It was a great night for Tsawwassen locals and for the fans that came from White Rock/South Surrey and other areas. The Legion Lounge was busy all night, and fans appreciated reasonable bar prices and a decent selection of drinks. Connie’s Kitchen, a third-party food service inside the Legion, was also busy all night.

The Legion was a pleasure to work with and they enjoyed and benefited greatly from this live music event. Let’s hope we see more of this happening in Legions everywhere. We were able to make this evening a success thanks to support from Music Lottery. Get your tickets for the next draw and be eligible to win cash, and support local, live music programming!

Thanks for supporting live music!
